LODTALAD
LODTALAD
Lao Dalun (LODTALAD) is an identity emerging from the fusion of reality and virtuality. Under hypothetical scenarios of cosmogonic creation filled with contingency, he cultivates an imagined territory through self-referential logic, manifested in painting as a medium. By stripping objects to their elemental forms, he constructs an unknown world he confronts. The “LOD” in his name derives from a high-efficiency rendering algorithm, where base imagery presents relative ambiguity beneath sharp edges. Lao Dalun creates a series of paintable meta-elements that evolve from this foundation, forging a new visual consciousness that distills the unique aesthetics of virtual worlds. These elements act as a metalanguage, building meta-images that address and interrogate complex aesthetic questions. Born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, Lao Jiahui graduated from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and currently works between Beijing and Guangzhou.
